Our school is on the journey of improving writing across the whole school.
Every day writing is incorporated into the classroom learning program. The writing process is the key to teaching of writing.
Each day our Year 2 to Year 6 students commence 'Writing on demand' at 8.30am. Prep to Year 1 incorporate in their literacy sessions.
We are also explicitly teaching 'Seven steps to writing success':
- Plan for success
- Sizzling starts
- Tightening tensions
- Dynamic dialouge
- Show don't tell
- Ban the boring bits
- Exciting endings
